My journey as a realtor took an unexpected turn during the onset of COVID when I became the primary caregiver for my elder sister, who was battling dementia. With no immediate family to share the responsibility, I found myself navigating her care and becoming her advocate. The challenges of caregiving for someone with dementia, coupled with the support of amazing friends, led me to connect with others who shared similar stories and concerns.
After a year and a half of this caregiving journey, settling my sister into a memory care community prompted me to reflect on my career. Despite holding a senior real estate specialist certification, I felt the need for more in-depth knowledge to effectively serve seniors. Driven by a passion for learning and a commitment to community service, I enrolled in the Senior Real Estate Institute. After a rigorous six-month journey, I proudly earned the Certified Senior Housing Professional designation, empowering me to better serve seniors in their real estate needs.
